The Manager, Paid Search Marketing will be responsible for planning, strategizing and leading complex and integrated Paid Search campaigns. The Manager will be the Paid Search client lead, including speaking to clients on a regular basis to effectively explain strategy, performance and maintaining their confidence.

 

The Manager, Paid Search Marketing is expected to lead one or more analysts to effectively manage the paid search programs to the client’s goals. This position requires direct, hands on experience running large scale acquisition or sales driving campaigns using paid search. You will need to have the ability to adapt to changing marketing conditions – new opportunities and tools, emerging trends, competitive challenges that enable the agency to deliver successful campaigns that solidify client engagements long term.

Overall responsibilities of the Manager, Paid Search include:

  • Planning all strategy for the paid search program, and communicating to client 
  • Maintain client trust in the paid search strategies and performance, and ability to answer questions on all paid search-related performance, industry trends and features 
  • Anticipate client needs and performance changes based on industry trends 
  • Explain performance, strategy and methods to the client 
  • Guide, mentor and manage analysts on paid search, their daily workload and accounts 
  • Expertise in Google Ads, SA360, Optmyzr, Opteo and Microsoft Ads
  • Develop testing strategies and new ideas for the paid search programs
  • Management of automated bid management tools and optimizations
  • Recognize performance trends and lead team to react and anticipate to these changes
  • Ongoing and direct communication with clients to establish strong relationships 
  • Ability to understand, implement and explain conversion tagging, measurement attribution windows, maintain clear nomenclature and build sophisticated audience strategies 
  • Guide your team in creating insights for your client without oversight from the Paid Search Director or Account team. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a STEM discipline 
  • Previous experience managing paid search teams

Certifications Required:

  • Google Ads 
  • Microsoft Ads 
  • Google Analytics 
  • 4 – 6 years of Paid Search Marketing experience (Google Ads, Bing Ads)
  • Experienced and trained in SA 360 
  • Experience with using Google Ad Scripts and Microsoft Advertising Scripts to automate paid search management and optimization 
  • Experience managing large scale ($2MM+), direct marketing-oriented search campaigns (i.e. goals like CPA, ROAS, CPL) 
  • Experience across both B2B and B2C 
  • Comfortable speaking with and presenting to senior clients
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical approach to achieving objectives
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and presentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
